Description
The present invention relates to a thermoelectric conversion module.
In the thermoelectric conversion module, a large number of p-type thermoelectric conversion elements (thermoelectric conversion semiconductors) and n-type thermoelectric conversion elements are alternately arranged, and these p-type thermoelectric conversion elements and n-type thermoelectric conversion elements are electrically connected to each other via electrodes. Are connected in series.
If a temperature difference exists between both ends of the p-type thermoelectric conversion element or the n-type thermoelectric conversion element, electricity due to the Seebeck effect is generated. That is, heat energy can be converted into electrical energy.
On the other hand, if electricity is applied to the thermoelectric conversion module, a temperature difference occurs between both ends of the p-type thermoelectric conversion element or the n-type thermoelectric conversion element due to the Peltier effect, and heating or cooling can be performed.
When a thermoelectric conversion element is used at a temperature higher than room temperature, the thermoelectric conversion element, electrode material, etc. constituting the thermoelectric conversion module are oxidized, and the service life of the thermoelectric conversion module is shortened. The thermoelectric conversion module may have a structure in which components such as thermoelectric conversion elements are hermetically sealed in a container (housing) in order to prevent the components such as thermoelectric conversion elements from being oxidized. . The container is evacuated or filled with an inert gas. When heat energy is converted into electrical energy, heat is transferred from the outside of the container to the thermoelectric conversion element in the container via its top surface.
The following has been found by the study of the present inventor. When the plate thickness of the container is sufficiently thin, for example, when the plate thickness is about 0.1 mm, the negative pressure housing can maintain good contact between the top surface and the thermoelectric conversion element in the vessel. . However, as the plate thickness increases, the thermal stress increases and the top surface of the container is deformed, so it is difficult to maintain good contact between the top surface of the module and the thermoelectric conversion element in the container by negative pressure. It becomes. Furthermore, it has been found that a thermoelectric conversion module container having a small plate thickness may lack oxidation resistance and corrosion resistance. The present inventor considered that the lack of oxidation resistance and corrosion resistance was caused by insufficient thickness of the container, and attempted to improve the oxidation resistance and corrosion resistance by increasing the thickness of the container.
As a result, the inventor has no problem in thermoelectric conversion efficiency when the plate thickness is about 0.1 mm, but lacks oxidation resistance and corrosion resistance. It has been found that the thermoelectric conversion efficiency is lowered although the property and corrosion resistance are sufficiently improved.
This invention is made | formed in view of the said subject, and it aims at providing the thermoelectric conversion module which has sufficient oxidation resistance and corrosion resistance, and sufficient thermoelectric conversion efficiency.
As described above, when the plate thickness is about 0.1 mm, the present inventors have no problem in the thermoelectric conversion efficiency, but the oxidation resistance and the corrosion resistance are insufficient, and the plate thickness is 0.3 mm or more. Although the oxidation resistance and the corrosion resistance were sufficiently improved, the knowledge that the thermoelectric conversion efficiency was decreased was obtained.
The present inventors further examined the cause of such a decrease in thermoelectric conversion efficiency, and when the one end side of the thermoelectric conversion module becomes high temperature, the container is deformed in a direction in which the top surface of the container and the thermoelectric conversion element are separated from each other. And it discovered that the phenomenon in which the heat exchange between a container and the thermoelectric conversion element of the inside was inhibited occurred.
The present inventor considered that in order to suppress the occurrence of this phenomenon, it is necessary to suppress the deformation of the container in the direction in which the container and the thermoelectric exchange element are separated from each other. As a result of various trials and errors, the present inventor conducted a test to measure the displacement in the Z direction of the top surface of the container and the thermoelectric conversion efficiency when the thermoelectric conversion module was once operated at a high temperature and then returned to room temperature. As a result, it was found that there is a high correlation between the Z-direction displacement and the thermoelectric conversion efficiency. Specifically, when the temperature of the top surface of the container is raised to 400 ° C. or higher and then returned to room temperature, the shortest distance between the bottom surface of the container and the top surface is greater than the distance between the peripheral edge of the top surface and the bottom surface. When the shape of a container was set so that it might become small, the knowledge that sufficient thermoelectric conversion efficiency was securable was acquired.

A second thermally conductive insulator inserted between the other end of the thermoelectric conversion element and the inner surface of the bottom surface of the container;

The container has at least a side wall and the top surface made of a plate material, and the thickness of the plate material is 0.3 mm or more,
By raising the temperature of the top surface of the container to 400 ° C. or higher and then returning to room temperature, the shortest distance between the bottom surface and the top surface is smaller than the distance between the periphery of the top surface and the bottom surface. A thermoelectric conversion module is provided.

According to this thermoelectric conversion module, since the thickness of the plate material of the container is 0.3 mm or more, sufficient oxidation resistance and corrosion resistance can be obtained.
In addition, by raising the temperature of the top surface of the container to 400 ° C. or higher and then returning to room temperature, the shortest distance between the bottom surface of the container and the top surface is smaller than the distance between the peripheral edge and the bottom surface of the top surface. Since the thermoelectric conversion module is configured, the separation between the top surface and the bottom surface can be suppressed even if the thickness of the plate of the container is 0.3 mm or more. Therefore, the adhesion between the thermoelectric conversion element and the first thermal conductive insulator and the adhesion between the first thermal conductive insulator and the top surface of the container can be maintained, and sufficient thermoelectric conversion efficiency can be ensured.
In short, the thermoelectric conversion module according to the present invention has sufficient oxidation resistance and corrosion resistance and sufficient thermoelectric conversion efficiency.
In addition, the present inventor has obtained knowledge that a planar shape and a side wall height are important as the shape of the container. More specifically, when the curvature radius of the outline in plan view of the top surface of the container is 15 mm or more over the entire area of the outline and the height of the side wall is 6 mm or more, sufficient thermoelectric conversion is achieved. The knowledge that efficiency can be secured was obtained.

Accordingly, the present invention provides a thermoelectric conversion element,
A container in which the thermoelectric conversion element is hermetically sealed;
A first thermally conductive insulator inserted between one end of the thermoelectric conversion element and the inner surface of the top surface of the container;
A second thermally conductive insulator inserted between the other end of the thermoelectric conversion element and the inner surface of the bottom surface of the container;
Have
The container has at least a side wall and the top surface made of a plate material, and the thickness of the plate material is 0.3 mm or more,
The radius of curvature of the outline in plan view of the top surface is 15 mm or more over the entire area of the outline;
The thermoelectric conversion module is characterized in that the side wall has a height of 6 mm or more.
According to this thermoelectric conversion module, since the thickness of the plate material of the container is 0.3 mm or more, sufficient oxidation resistance and corrosion resistance can be obtained.
Moreover, since the radius of curvature of the outline in plan view of the top surface of the container is 15 mm or more over the entire area of the outline and the height of the side wall of the container is 6 mm or more, the thickness of the plate material of the container is reduced to 0. Even if it is 3 mm or more, the side wall can easily fall down to the side. Therefore, since the separation between the top surface and the bottom surface can be suppressed, the adhesion between the thermoelectric conversion element and the first thermally conductive insulator, and the adhesion between the first thermally conductive insulator and the top surface of the container can be maintained, Sufficient thermoelectric conversion efficiency can be ensured.
In short, the thermoelectric conversion module according to the present invention has sufficient oxidation resistance and corrosion resistance and sufficient thermoelectric conversion efficiency.

Next, the operation will be described.
First, the cooling water is supplied from a cooling water supply unit (not shown) into the cooling

More specifically, the radius of curvature of the outline in plan view of the
During the temperature increase, not only the

位置A(周縁部)での距離L(距離L2)・・・10.05mm

位置C(周縁部)での距離L(距離L2)・・・10.05mm

位置E(中央部)での距離L(最短距離L1)・・・9.95mm

Distance L (distance L2) at position D (periphery) ... 10.06 mm
Distance L (shortest distance L1) at position E (central portion) ... 9.95 mm
Thus, the shortest distance L1 is about 0.10 mm smaller than the average value (= about 10.05 mm) of the distance L2 at the peripheral edge. Moreover, the
Next, the knowledge recognized by the inventor will be described.
The container lid of the thermoelectric conversion modules of
That is, in the thermoelectric conversion module, the lid body is thermally expanded by heat at the time of temperature rise, and thermal stress is generated. When the planar shape of the lid is rectangular, the side surfaces of the lid that intersect with each other stick to each other during thermal expansion, so that it is difficult for the lid to be successfully deformed to the side. The strength of the corner portion of the lid is locally strong, and the portion is particularly difficult to deform.
When the planar shape of the lid is rectangular, if the thickness is 0.3 mm or more, stress that cannot escape to the side acts on the top surface, and the center of the top surface is deformed in a direction away from the substrate. Resulting in. As a result, heat exchange between the lid and the thermoelectric conversion element inside the lid is hindered. For this reason, it is difficult to obtain sufficient thermoelectric conversion efficiency. In particular, when the inside of the housing is vacuum-sealed, the decrease in heat conduction between the lid and the thermoelectric conversion element inside the lid becomes significant. There is a similar problem when the planar shape of the lid is a rectangular shape with rounded corners.
Note that the container is plastically deformed due to thermal expansion at the time of temperature rise, and the container remains in a deformed shape even after returning to room temperature.
On the other hand, in this embodiment, since the outline of the
Next, the difference in characteristics between the thermoelectric conversion module according to the example of the present embodiment and the thermoelectric conversion module according to the comparative example will be described. Moreover, in FIG. 7, P21 and P22 show the output of the thermoelectric conversion module which concerns on an Example. Among these, in P21, the Z direction displacement was −0.1 mm, and the output was 7.88 W. In P22, the displacement in the Z direction was 0 mm, and the output was 6.34W. In either case, a good output is obtained.
On the other hand, in FIG. 7, P24 shows the output of the thermoelectric conversion module according to Comparative Example 1, and P23 shows the output of the thermoelectric conversion module according to Comparative Example 2. Among these, in P23, the displacement in the Z direction was +3.0 mm, and the output was 0 W. In P24, the displacement in the Z direction was +5.0 mm, and the output was 0 W.
As can be seen from the results of FIGS. 6 and 7, the open circuit voltage and output are good when the Z direction displacement is 0 mm or less and in the negative range, but the open circuit voltage and output are poor when the Z direction displacement is positive.
As a shape factor of the container 2 (particularly the lid body 6) of the thermoelectric conversion module, it can be seen that the circular shape has a smaller Z-direction displacement than the rectangular shape, and the height of the side wall 62 ( It can be seen that the larger the (rise dimension), the smaller the displacement in the Z direction.
