Description

本発明は、貴金属ナノ粒子の製造方法に関する。   The present invention relates to a method for producing noble metal nanoparticles.

粒子径が100nm以下の金属ナノ粒子は、その特性が一般の粒子とは大きく異なる。例えば、金(Au)の場合、粒子径が10nm以下になると、その焼結温度が200℃以下とその融点に比べて大幅に低下することが知られている。   Metal nanoparticles having a particle diameter of 100 nm or less are greatly different from general particles. For example, in the case of gold (Au), it is known that when the particle diameter is 10 nm or less, the sintering temperature is 200 ° C. or less, which is significantly lower than its melting point.

これらの金属ナノ粒子は触媒作用等の特性を有することから、今後いろいろな分野での応用が期待される。とりわけ、電子部品の高速度化、高密度化に対する要求から、金属ナノ粒子を電子用配線形成材料の主成分として利用することが注目されている。この場合、従来から用いられてきたセラミックス、ガラス等の基材だけでなく、金属ナノ粒子の低温焼結性を活かしてポリイミド又は一般有機基板への応用も実用化に向けて検討されている。   Since these metal nanoparticles have characteristics such as catalytic action, they are expected to be applied in various fields in the future. In particular, the use of metal nanoparticles as a main component of electronic wiring forming materials has attracted attention because of the demand for higher speed and higher density of electronic components. In this case, not only the base materials such as ceramics and glass that have been used conventionally, but also application to polyimide or general organic substrates is being studied for practical use by taking advantage of the low-temperature sinterability of metal nanoparticles.

これまでの金属ナノ粒子の製造方法としては、例えば、原料となる金属を真空中、若干のヘリウムガスのような高価な不活性ガスの存在下で蒸発させることによって気相中から金属ナノ粒子を得る方法が知られている。   As a conventional method for producing metal nanoparticles, for example, a metal as a raw material is evaporated from a gas phase by evaporating the metal in a vacuum in the presence of an expensive inert gas such as some helium gas. The method of obtaining is known.

しかしながら、この方法では、一般に一度に得られる金属ナノ粒子の生成量が少ない。また、金属を蒸発させるために電子ビーム、プラズマ、レーザー、誘導加熱等の装置が必要であり、大量生産に適しているとは言い難い。しかも、これらの気相法により得られる金属ナノ粒子は、固体として取り出す場合、凝集し易いという物性上の欠点もある。   However, this method generally has a small amount of metal nanoparticles produced at a time. Moreover, in order to evaporate a metal, apparatuses, such as an electron beam, a plasma, a laser, induction heating, are required, and it cannot be said that it is suitable for mass production. Moreover, the metal nanoparticles obtained by these gas phase methods also have a drawback in physical properties that they tend to aggregate when taken out as a solid.

上記気相法に対し、液相中から金属ナノ粒子を調製する方法も提案されている。例えば、疎水性反応槽内でアンモニア性硝酸銀錯体溶液を還元して銀ナノ粒子を製造する方法が知られている。ところが、液相法により得られる金属ナノ粒子も凝集性が比較的強い。   In contrast to the gas phase method, a method of preparing metal nanoparticles from a liquid phase has also been proposed. For example, a method of producing silver nanoparticles by reducing an ammoniacal silver nitrate complex solution in a hydrophobic reaction tank is known. However, metal nanoparticles obtained by the liquid phase method are also relatively strong in agglomeration.

また、これらの製法の場合、ほぼ例外なく安定に分散させるために界面活性剤を加えて保護コロイド化する必要があるが、それでも分散安定性という面では、尚改善の余地がある。
Also, in the case of these processes, it is necessary to protective colloid by the addition of surfactant to almost exclusively stably dispersed, but still in terms of dispersion stability, there is still room for improvement.

これに対し、本発明者は、錯体を固体のまま熱分解して金属ナノ粒子を製造する固相熱分解法をさきに開発し、金属ナノ粒子の大量合成を実現している(特許文献1)。
WO2004/012884
On the other hand, the present inventor has developed a solid-phase thermal decomposition method for producing metal nanoparticles by thermally decomposing a complex in a solid state, and has realized mass synthesis of metal nanoparticles (Patent Document 1). ).
WO2004 / 012884

ところが、この方法は、例えば金ナノ粒子等の貴金属ナノ粒子を製造するような場合、前駆体(出発原料)の合成に3段階の工程が必要となる。また、熱分解反応における反応温度を比較的高く設定しなければならないため、所望の粒径の粒子を得るには、粒子が凝集を起こしにくい限られた条件のもとで製造しなければならない。   However, in this method, for example, when producing noble metal nanoparticles such as gold nanoparticles, a three-step process is required for synthesis of the precursor (starting material). In addition, since the reaction temperature in the thermal decomposition reaction must be set relatively high, in order to obtain particles having a desired particle size, the particles must be produced under limited conditions in which the particles do not easily aggregate.

従って、本発明の主な目的は、比較的簡便で大量生産に適した貴金属ナノ粒子の製造方法を提供することにある。   Accordingly, a main object of the present invention is to provide a method for producing noble metal nanoparticles that is relatively simple and suitable for mass production.

本発明者は、従来技術の問題点に鑑みて鋭意研究を重ねた結果、特定の製造方法を導入することにより上記目的を達成できることを見出し、本発明を完成するに至った。   As a result of intensive studies in view of the problems of the prior art, the present inventor has found that the above object can be achieved by introducing a specific manufacturing method, and has completed the present invention.

本発明の製造方法によれば、特定の金属錯体を原料として用いることから、所望の粒径をもつ貴金属ナノ粒子を効率良く製造することができる。これにより、ナノ粒子が本来有する低温焼結性、溶剤への高分散性等をより確実に得ることができる。   According to the production method of the present invention, since a specific metal complex is used as a raw material, noble metal nanoparticles having a desired particle diameter can be efficiently produced. Thereby, the low temperature sinterability which the nanoparticle originally has, the high dispersibility to a solvent, etc. can be obtained more reliably.

また、本発明の製造方法では、用いる金属錯体、アミン化合物、保護剤等の種類を変えることにより、得られる貴金属ナノ粒子の粒径、分散性等を自由に変えることができる。   In the production method of the present invention, the particle size, dispersibility, and the like of the obtained noble metal nanoparticles can be freely changed by changing the types of the metal complex, amine compound, protective agent, and the like to be used.

The noble metal nanoparticles obtained by the production method of the present invention have high dispersibility even if they are fine particles of 100 nm or less (particularly 50 nm or less), particularly when the particles contain noble metals and organic components. Therefore, a highly dispersed state can be maintained even in a solvent. For this reason, it can be suitably used in the form of a conductive circuit forming paste. In addition, since fine particles are in a highly dispersed state, a dense conductive circuit can be formed by firing at a relatively low temperature (500 ° C. or lower, more preferably 350 ° C. or lower). Accordingly, a wide range of resins such as polyimide and epoxy resin (glass epoxy resin) can be used as the substrate.

Protective agent In the present invention, in the heat treatment, if necessary, other materials can coexist as starting materials. For example, at least one of carboxylic acid and phosphine oxide can be used as a protective agent. By coexisting these compounds, particles having a small particle size can be obtained by promoting dissociation of the phosphine ligand on the metal complex or protecting the surface of the generated particles. As the carboxylic acid, for example, oleic acid, myristic acid, stearic acid and the like can be preferably used. As the phosphine oxide, for example, trioctylphosphine oxide, triphenylphosphine oxide and the like can be preferably used.

これら保護剤の使用量は限定的ではないが、一般的には、前記の金属錯体1モルに対して1〜5モル、特に1〜3モルとすることが望ましい。   Although the usage-amount of these protective agents is not limited, Generally, it is desirable to set it as 1-5 mol with respect to 1 mol of said metal complexes, especially 1-3 mol.

熱処理
本発明の製造方法では、前記金属錯体を含む出発原料をアミン化合物の存在下において熱処理する。
Heat treatment In the production method of the present invention, the starting material containing the metal complex is heat-treated in the presence of an amine compound.

熱処理方法は限定的でなく、オイルバス中での加熱、マイクロ波による加熱等のいずれであっても良い。   The heat treatment method is not limited and may be any of heating in an oil bath, heating by microwaves, and the like.

熱処理は、得られる貴金属ナノ粒子中に有機成分が含まれるように実施されることが望ましい。これは、熱処理温度、熱処理時間、雰囲気等を調整することにより制御することができる。   It is desirable that the heat treatment be performed so that organic components are contained in the resulting noble metal nanoparticles. This can be controlled by adjusting the heat treatment temperature, heat treatment time, atmosphere, and the like.

The heat treatment temperature is not particularly limited as long as the metal complex reacts with the amine compound to obtain predetermined noble metal nanoparticles, and can be appropriately determined according to the type of metal complex and amine compound used. As described above, the heat treatment is desirably performed so that the obtained noble metal nanoparticles include an organic component. From this point of view, in the present invention, it is preferable that the temperature range is equal to or higher than the temperature at which the mixture (starting material) containing the metal complex and the amine compound finally becomes liquid and lower than the boiling point of the amine compound. Generally, it can be set within a range of 200 ° C. or lower, particularly 40 to 200 ° C. In particular, when the noble metal is gold, the heat treatment temperature is preferably 40 to 150 ° C, particularly 40 to 130 ° C.

熱処理時間は、使用する出発原料の組成、熱処理温度等に応じて適宜設定すれば良いが、通常は0.5〜10時間程度、好ましくは0.5〜3時間とすれば良い。
熱処理温度及び時間によって、粒子径も制御することができる。一般に、反応温度が高いほど、また反応時間が長いほど、粒子径が大きくなる傾向がある。
The heat treatment time may be appropriately set according to the composition of the starting material to be used, the heat treatment temperature, etc., but is usually about 0.5 to 10 hours, preferably 0.5 to 3 hours.
The particle size can also be controlled by the heat treatment temperature and time. In general, the higher the reaction temperature and the longer the reaction time, the larger the particle size.

The heat treatment atmosphere is not particularly limited. For example, any of air, inert gas atmosphere, reducing atmosphere, and vacuum may be used. In the case of an inert gas atmosphere, for example, an inert gas such as nitrogen, carbon dioxide, argon, or helium may be used.
In the present invention, the starting material and the amine compound may be charged into the reaction vessel and heat-treated without using an organic solvent. When the amine compound is a solid, the starting material and the amine compound may be heat-treated while being in a solid state.

熱処理が終了した後、必要に応じて精製を行う。精製方法は、公知の精製法も適用でき、例えば洗浄、遠心分離、膜精製、溶媒抽出等により行えば良い。   After the heat treatment is completed, purification is performed as necessary. As a purification method, a known purification method can be applied, and for example, washing, centrifugation, membrane purification, solvent extraction and the like may be performed.

貴金属ナノ粒子
本発明は、前記の製造方法により得られる、通常は1種以上の貴金属及び有機成分を含む貴金属ナノ粒子を包含する。
Noble Metal Nanoparticles The present invention includes noble metal nanoparticles that are obtained by the above-described manufacturing method and usually contain one or more kinds of noble metals and organic components.

貴金属は、Au、Pd及びPtの少なくとも1種を含む。2種以上を含む場合、それらは混合物であっても良いし、合金化していても良い。   The noble metal includes at least one of Au, Pd, and Pt. When 2 or more types are included, they may be a mixture or may be alloyed.

貴金属の含有量は、最終製品の用途、得られる粒子の粒径等によるが、通常は50〜98重量%程度、特に70〜98重量%とすることが望ましい。本発明では、80重量%以上という高金属含有率であっても、有機溶媒等に対する分散性に優れているという特徴を有している。   The content of the noble metal depends on the use of the final product, the particle size of the particles to be obtained, etc., but is usually preferably about 50 to 98% by weight, particularly 70 to 98% by weight. In the present invention, even if the metal content is as high as 80% by weight or more, it has a feature that it has excellent dispersibility in an organic solvent or the like.

有機成分は、一般的には、金属錯体及び/又はアミン化合物に由来する有機成分である。有機成分の存在により、貴金属ナノ粒子の分散安定性の向上等を図ることができる。   The organic component is generally an organic component derived from a metal complex and / or an amine compound. Due to the presence of the organic component, it is possible to improve the dispersion stability of the noble metal nanoparticles.

貴金属ナノ粒子の平均粒子径は、通常は1〜100nm程度の範囲内で適宜設定できるが、特に1〜50nm、さらには1〜30nmであることが好ましい。   The average particle diameter of the noble metal nanoparticles can be appropriately set within a range of usually about 1 to 100 nm, but is particularly preferably 1 to 50 nm, and more preferably 1 to 30 nm.

貴金属ナノ粒子の形状は特に限定されない。球状、ワイヤー状、不定形状等のいずれであっても良い。例えば、本発明の製造方法では、球状又は突起を持つ球状、ワイヤー状等の貴金属ナノ粒子を好適に得ることもできる。   The shape of the noble metal nanoparticles is not particularly limited. Any of spherical shape, wire shape, indefinite shape, etc. may be sufficient. For example, in the production method of the present invention, noble metal nanoparticles such as a spherical shape, a spherical shape having protrusions, or a wire shape can be suitably obtained.

Since the noble metal nanoparticles include a noble metal and an organic component, the noble metal nanoparticles are excellent in dispersion stability regardless of a high metal content, and are in a solubilized state when dispersed in a solvent. For example, in addition to a terpene solvent, it may be dispersed in an organic solvent such as acetone, isopropanol, benzene, toluene, hexane, diethyl ether, kerosene, or the like. Moreover, it can also mix | blend with a well-known pasting agent and can also be used as a paste. When used as a paste, the content of the noble metal nanoparticles can be appropriately set within a range of 20 to 90% by weight.

Such noble metal nanoparticles (including noble metal alloy nanoparticles) include, for example, electronic materials (printed wiring, conductive materials, electrode materials, bonding materials, etc.), magnetic materials (magnetic recording media, electromagnetic wave absorbers, electromagnetic wave resonances). Etc.), catalyst materials (fast reaction catalysts, sensors, etc.), structural materials (far-infrared materials, composite film forming materials, etc.), ceramics / metal materials (brazing materials, sintering aids, coating materials, etc.), ceramics It can be widely used for various applications such as decorative materials for medical use and medical materials. In particular, it can be suitably used for forming a conductive circuit.

貴金属ナノ粒子を用いて導電回路(導電膜)を形成する場合は、例えば前記に例示した溶剤と本発明の製造方法により得られる貴金属ナノ粒子とを含むペーストを用いて所定の回路パターンを基板上に形成した後、熱処理すれば良い。熱処理は、通常100〜800℃、好ましくは200〜400℃の範囲内とすれば良い。   When forming a conductive circuit (conductive film) using noble metal nanoparticles, for example, a predetermined circuit pattern is formed on the substrate using a paste containing the solvent exemplified above and the noble metal nanoparticles obtained by the production method of the present invention. After the formation, the heat treatment may be performed. The heat treatment is usually 100 to 800 ° C., preferably 200 to 400 ° C.

また、装飾材料を製造する場合は、前記と同様のペーストを用いて基材上に絵柄層を形成した後、前記絵柄層を熱処理することにより装飾材料を得ることができる。前記基材としては、例えば陶磁器、ガラス等の公知の物品・素材から適宜選んで用いることができる。この場合の熱処理温度は、導電回路を形成する場合と同様にすれば良い。   Moreover, when manufacturing a decoration material, after forming a pattern layer on a base material using the paste similar to the above, a decoration material can be obtained by heat-processing the said pattern layer. As said base material, it can select from well-known articles | goods / materials, such as ceramics and glass, for example, and can be used suitably. The heat treatment temperature in this case may be the same as in the case of forming a conductive circuit.
