本発明は、OA製品などの蓋体と本体のような2つの部材を開閉可能に連結するヒンジ装置に関し、特に、電子手帳、携帯電話及び化粧用コンパクト等の携帯用品に適用して最適なヒンジ装置に関する。

従来、携帯電話、電子手帳等において、携帯時に誤ってキーパネルを押してしまったり、液晶画面を傷つけることがないようにしたり、小さくするために本体と蓋体のような2つの部材を開閉可能とする2つ折り構造のものが提供されており、この2つ折り構造としては、2つの部材をヒンジ装置で開閉可能に連結するものが採用されている。
このヒンジ装置としては、従来、特開平8−317025号公報及び特開2000−17932号公報に示されているように、一対のカムが、互いの軸線を一致させて、相対回転可能にかつ互いに接近、離間可能に設けられ、これらのカムのカム面がばねによって互いに密接するように付勢されてなり、両カムが相対的に回転することにより、前記両カムがそれらの軸線に沿って相対的に移動して、両カム相互の角度関係を変更するものが一般的である。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
しかしながら、従来のヒンジ装置は、部品点数が多く、構造も複雑である課題がある。例えば、特開平8−317025号公報に記載されたヒンジ装置においては、筒状部材、ばね、カム、カムホロワ及びキャップ等の部品が必要となり、その構造も複雑であり、また、特開2000−17932号公報に記載されたヒンジ装置でも、可動側カム、固定側カム、ばね及びガイドホルダ等の部品が必要であり、その構造も複雑である。

このように部品点数が多く、構造が複雑であると、製造に手数がかかるし、製造費も蒿み高価となるし、部品の組み付けも手数を要し、精度よく組み付けるとなると大変である。特に、小形製品となると、それぞれの部品も小さくなるので精度をだしての組み付けは一層困難となる。また、部品点数が多いとさらに軽量、小型化するには難しくなる課題がある。
