【従来の技術】
酒を宅配便などで消費者に直送する場合、瓶のまま送るより、瓶を化粧箱に入れて送るほうが喜ばれる。化粧箱に入れて酒瓶を送る場合、輸送中に瓶が破損しないよう従来は、化粧箱を頑丈な外箱に入れ、化粧箱と外箱の隙間には緩衝材を詰めていた。このように、外箱と緩衝材が必要なので、資材費が嵩み、手間もかかった。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
この発明は、箱状の荷物を輸送中の損傷から守るために、安価で梱包に手間がかからない緩衝箱を提供することを課題とする。

【課題を解決するための手段】
この包装用緩衝箱は、箱状の荷物を上から受け入れるものであって、箱本体から延設されているフラップをそれぞれ内側に折り込んで、箱状荷物が当接するボックス形の緩衝部を形成する。下のフラップにあらかじめ形成してあって、下側の緩衝部の対向面にあらわれる上下方向のスリットに、両端を挿入するようにして梁を支持し、この梁で箱状荷物を支えるようにする（請求項１）。

このように構成した緩衝箱では、垂直方向の衝撃は梁が、横方向の衝撃はボックス型の緩衝部がそれぞれ変形して衝撃を緩和することができ、この緩衝箱に箱状の荷物を入れて輸送すれば、輸送中誤って落としても破損しにくいという効果がある。また、この緩衝箱は、部品が箱本体と梁だけであって、部品点数が少なくて安価に提供でき、組立も容易である。なお、梁は、ダンボール紙を折り重ねて用いることができる。

箱本体から荷物が抜け出ないように固定する必要があるが、これには粘着テープを用いるのが簡単である。しかし、粘着テープを剥がすときに、箱状荷物の印刷面（化粧面）を傷つけるおそれがある。そこで、荷物の頂部を抑えるためのベルトを箱本体から切り出せるよう、箱本体に上下方向の切れ目を設けるよい。切り出したベルトの先端同士を粘着テープで結合すれば、荷物が飛び出すことがなく、粘着テープは荷物に直接張らないので、印刷面を損なうことがない。

【発明の実施の形態】
この緩衝箱１０は図１に斜視図で示すよう、１.８リットルの酒瓶１１が２本入った化粧箱１２を上から挿入できる大きさにできている。緩衝箱は化粧箱に比べて高さが小さく、化粧箱の全部が中に収まるのではなく、全高の約１０分の７だけが収まる。緩衝箱は底板がなく、梁１３で化粧箱の重量を支えるようになっている。
