[0003] Even if additional columns or walls are provided, if the columns or walls are themselves fragile, the number of columns or walls required to obtain the required seismic strength increases. Therefore, the weight of the building increases and the effective use space is limited, which is not preferable.

Means for Solving the Problems A vertical slit is provided along the pillars at the left and right ends of the wall, which is the seismic element of the existing building, at the sides of the pillars. In addition, a horizontal slit is provided in the middle part of the wall, and the wall is an independent hanging wall and a waist wall, and the hanging wall and the waist wall are joined to each other by a vibration control device such as an elastic-plastic damper, a viscous damper, and a visco-elastic damper. Structure.

Further, a slit may be provided separately from the beam and the wall on the upper floor or the beam and the wall on the lower floor, and the vibration damping device may be arranged in the slit.

[0007] By making the existing wall an independent hanging wall and a lumbar wall, the deformation of the entire building due to the earthquake becomes an independent hanging wall and a lumbar wall, respectively. That is, relative deformation occurs between the two, and the vibration damping device absorbs vibration energy against the relative deformation.

According to the present invention, a slit is provided in an existing wall and the existing beam is connected to the existing beam via a vibration control device. Therefore, in an existing building having low earthquake resistance, an earthquake-resistant element such as a column or a wall is used. Earthquake-resistant reinforcement can be easily performed without increasing the number of columns or without newly reinforcing columns and beams. Therefore, there is no increase in the weight of the building, and there is no obstacle to reducing the space used.
