Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a liquid ejecting head that ejects liquid such as ink, and a liquid ejecting apparatus including the liquid ejecting head.
This type of liquid ejecting head includes a series of liquid flow paths from a liquid introduction port to a nozzle opening through a reservoir (common liquid chamber) and a pressure chamber, and causes pressure fluctuations in the pressure chamber by a pressure generating element. The liquid droplets are ejected from the nozzle openings. This liquid jet head is manufactured by bonding a plurality of components. For example, a flow path unit having a pressure chamber and a nozzle opening is constituted by a plurality of plate-like members, and these plate-like members are bonded in a laminated state in the flow path unit manufacturing process. Further, in the flow path unit mounting step, the flow path unit and the case are bonded. In the case and the channel unit, the liquid channel is formed.
。 When a plurality of components are bonded with an adhesive, the adhesive may be cured in a state where a part of the adhesive is exposed in the liquid flow path. If the adhesive is peeled off, the flow of liquid is deteriorated or the nozzle opening is clogged. For example, when the cured adhesive is partially peeled off at the edge (corner) of the nozzle communication port, the peeled part becomes a hook-like shape. Specifically, one end is adhered to the wall surface of the nozzle communication port. In some cases, the free end is in a state of riding on the flow of the liquid, and the tip is exposed to the outside from the nozzle opening. For this reason, in the formation process of the liquid ejecting head, a technique for preventing defects in the liquid flow path by cleaning the adhesive exposed in the liquid flow path using a solvent or the like (for example, Patent Documents). 1).
In some cases, the adhesive exposed in the liquid channel cannot be completely removed by a solvent or the like. In addition, cleaning with a solvent or the like means that the man-hour required for assembling the liquid ejecting head is increased, and thus there may be a problem in terms of cost.
SUMMARY An advantage of some aspects of the invention is that it provides a liquid ejecting head and a liquid ejecting apparatus that prevent clogging of a liquid flow path and the like caused by excess cured adhesive.
In order to solve the above-described problem, in the present invention, a nozzle plate in which a plurality of nozzle openings for ejecting liquid is formed, a nozzle communication port that communicates with each of the nozzle openings, and the nozzle communication port are connected to and parallel to the nozzle plate. A pressure chamber forming substrate having a pressure chamber extending in any direction, a sealing plate joined to the pressure chamber forming substrate, and a portion of the sealing plate corresponding to the pressure chamber, and deformed into the sealing plate And the nozzle plate, the pressure chamber forming substrate, the pressure chamber forming substrate, and the sealing plate are connected by an adhesive, and the nozzle communication port is the nozzle When the plate surface is the bottom side and the wall surface on the pressure chamber side connected to the base side is the first wall surface, the first wall surface and the two surfaces of the second wall surface adjacent to the first wall surface include Nozzle communication port Has a depressed recess portion toward the side, the recessed portion has a configuration which is formed on the nozzle opening side.
In the invention configured as described above, the nozzle plate, the pressure chamber forming substrate, the pressure chamber forming substrate, and the sealing substrate are connected by an adhesive, and the adhesive is cured inside the nozzle communication port. May end up. Therefore, when the nozzle plate surface is the nozzle plate surface as the bottom and the wall surface on the pressure chamber side connected to the bottom surface is the first wall surface, the first wall surface and the second wall surface adjacent to the first wall surface The surface has a dent that falls toward the outside of the nozzle communication port on the nozzle opening side. Therefore, the adhesive can be cured while collecting in this recess, so that the adhesive can be prevented from reaching the nozzle opening, and clogging of the liquid flow path caused by the excess cured adhesive can be prevented. can do.

1. About inkjet recording heads:
Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. In the following description, an ink jet recording head (a kind of the liquid ejecting head of the present invention) used in a liquid ejecting apparatus such as an ink jet printer will be described as an example.
FIG. 1 is a cross-sectional view of an ink jet recording head 1. FIG. 2 is a view for explaining the structure of the
As shown in FIG. 1, the ink jet recording head 1 is bonded to a vibrator unit 5 having a plurality of piezoelectric vibrators 4, a case 6 in which the vibrator units 5 can be stored, and a tip surface of the case 6. And a
The vibrator unit 5 is a component obtained by unitizing a plurality of piezoelectric vibrators 4, a fixed plate 7, a flexible cable 8, and the like. The piezoelectric vibrator 4 is a kind of pressure generating element and also a kind of electromechanical conversion element. The piezoelectric vibrator 4 of the present embodiment is formed in a comb-teeth shape cut into an extremely narrow width of about 30 μm to 100 μm. Each piezoelectric vibrator 4 is attached in the form of a cantilever with a free end protruding outside the edge of the fixed plate 7. The piezoelectric vibrator 4 is a stacked piezoelectric vibrator 4 configured by alternately stacking piezoelectric bodies and internal electrodes, and can be expanded and contracted in a vertical direction perpendicular to the electric field direction. This is a piezoelectric vibrator 4 of a type capable of vibrating in the longitudinal direction. Accordingly, the free end of the piezoelectric vibrator 4 contracts in the longitudinal direction of the vibrator by charging, and the free end of the piezoelectric vibrator 4 extends in the longitudinal direction of the element by discharging. As described above, the fixed plate 7 is a component to which each piezoelectric vibrator 4 is joined. In this embodiment, a metal plate having good heat dissipation, specifically, a stainless steel plate having a thickness of about 0.7 mm to 1 mm is used. The flexible cable 8 is a flexible wiring member that supplies a drive signal to each piezoelectric vibrator 4 and is electrically connected to each piezoelectric vibrator 4 at the vibrator base end.
The case 6 is a synthetic resin block-like member in which the
The
The
The flow
As shown in FIG. 2B, the
The
As shown in FIG. 2A, the elastic plate (sealing plate) 18 has a double structure in which an
As shown in FIG. 3, the partition wall 171 (first wall surface) and the partition wall 172 (second wall surface), which are in contact with each other so as to form the nozzle communication port 13 of the flow
In the present embodiment, the
In the ink jet recording head 1 configured as described above, the
Next, a method for manufacturing the ink jet recording head 1 having the above configuration will be described. In manufacturing the ink jet recording head 1, necessary components such as the case 6, the vibrator unit 5, and the
In the vibrator unit manufacturing process for manufacturing the vibrator unit 5, first, a fixing plate 7 cut out to a predetermined size is prepared, and an adhesive is applied to the surface of the fixing plate 7. That is, an adhesive is applied by printing or the like to an adhesion area where the vibrator group is adhered. As this adhesive, for example, a thermosetting epoxy adhesive is preferably used. When the adhesive is applied to the surface of the fixed plate, one half of the piezoelectric plate is placed on the adhesive application surface. Here, the piezoelectric plate is a base material of the piezoelectric vibrator 4 and is a plate-like member formed by laminating an electrode layer and a piezoelectric body in layers. When the piezoelectric plate is placed, the adhesive interposed between the fixed plate 7 and the piezoelectric plate is cured, and the piezoelectric plate is bonded to the fixed plate 7. If the piezoelectric plate is bonded to the fixed plate 7, the piezoelectric plate is cut into comb teeth to produce a plurality of piezoelectric vibrators 4. For this cutting, for example, a dicing saw or a wire saw is used, and cutting is performed from the front end side portion (that is, free end portion) of the piezoelectric plate protruding outward from the front end surface of the fixed plate 7 toward the fixed plate 7 side. That is done. Once the piezoelectric vibrator 4 is cut, the flexible cable 8 is joined to complete the vibrator unit 5.
In the flow path unit manufacturing process for manufacturing the
In the plate bonding step, the
When these case 6, vibrator unit 5, flow
If the position of the
When this adhesion area is filled with the adhesive, the case 6 is heated. By this heating, the
By the way, in the bonding of the flow
Therefore, in the flow
FIG. 4 is an internal cross-sectional view showing the vicinity of the
Further, even when the adhesive does not completely peel from the wall surface, the length La of the

In such an ink
In the ink
