Claims (11)
- 複数の表示画素を有する電気光学ディスプレイを駆動する方法であって、
電流源を提供し、
前記電流源をデジタル的に変調して変調されたデジタル信号を生成し、
前記表示画素が実効的なアナログ駆動電流を受けるように、前記変調されたデジタル信号を実効的なアナログ駆動信号に変換すること
を備え、
前記電気光学ディスプレイの内部静電容量が、前記デジタル的に変調された信号を平滑化して前記実効的なアナログ駆動信号を生成する方法。 - 前記ディスプレイは、パッシブマトリクス駆動の電気光学ディスプレイである請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記表示画素は、有機エレクトロルミネッセンス材料で構成される請求項2に記載の方法。
- 前記パッシブマトリクスディスプレイは、行電極と列電極とのアレイを備え、前記行電極および列電極の駆動は、第1および第2の列駆動信号セットならびに第1および第2の行駆動信号セットでそれぞれに駆動することを含む請求項2または3に記載の方法。
- 前記ディスプレイの2つ以上の行電極を前記第1の行駆動信号セットで駆動するのと同時に前記ディスプレイの前記列電極を前記第1の列駆動信号セットで駆動し、次いで、2つ以上の行電極が前記第2の行駆動信号セットで駆動されるのと同時に前記列電極を前記第2の列駆動信号セットで駆動することを含む請求項4に記載の方法。
- 前記第1および第2の列駆動信号ならびに前記第1および第2の行駆動信号は、前記行電極および列電極によって駆動される前記ディスプレイの画素の所望のルミネッセンスが、前記第1の行駆動信号および輝度ならびに第1の列駆動信号および輝度により決定される輝度の実質的線形和によって得られるように選択される請求項4または5に記載の方法。
- 前記デジタル的に変調するステップは、1MHzより高い変調周波数で行われる上記請求項のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記デジタル的に変調するステップは、1MHzから2MHzの範囲内の変調周波数で行われる請求項1ないし6のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記デジタル的に変調するステップは、パルス幅変調を含む上記請求項のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記デジタル的に変調するステップは、デルタシグマ変調を含む上記請求項のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 実質的に上に、および/または添付の図面の図5および図6を参照して記載された、電気光学ディスプレイを駆動する方法。
