A mould for piston rings comprises ring cavities 2 connected to a feeder 4 by lateral passages 3, and a cylindrical core 5. In a modification the ring cavities are provided on the core 5, Fig. 6. Spaces 9, Fig. 5, may communicate with each groove to receive surplus metal.
