Abstract

886,639. Valves. HAENISCH, L. Aug. 10, 1959 [Aug. 8, 1958], No. 27258/59. Class 135. A rotary slide valve for the control of fluids, comprises a casing 1 having a through passage with nozzle outlets at its ends and opposed seating discs 5 tack-welded therein. The discs 5 in plan form are divided into an even number of alternate open and closed sector portions co-operable with a similar number of alternately arranged openings 20 and independently mounted closure plates 10 in a rotary plate holder 2 formed with a worm wheel segment 3 rotatable by a worm 4 from outside the casing. The closure plates 10 formed with pegs 12 are mounted in pairs in recesses 9, one facing each disc 5, with their pegs abutting each other in a bore connecting the recesses. To permit of assembly of the valve parts, the casing is formed with a socket 17 closed by a removable sealing cap 18 and the plate holder 2 is split along its horizontal diameter and held together by screws (not shown). Slight clearance exists between hard wearing surfaces 11 and 7 on the closure plates and seating discs respectively to allow for heat expansion.
