Abstract

881,304. Pipe joints. WADE COUPLINGS Ltd. Feb. 13, 1959 [Jan. 31, 1958], No. 3258/58. Class 99(1). A sealing ring 1, having external end tapers 7, 16, a recess 3 providing a front cutting edge 5 and a shoulder 14 providing a rear cutting edge 11 is deformed by the tightening of a nut 10 to effect a seal on the surface of a pipe 9 at each cutting edge. In a modification, Fig. 6, an internal recess 17 is provided.
