In a coupling for fluid-carrying pipe-lines comprising telescoping members A, B, the member B having pin retaining openings 20 therein and the member A being provided with a circumferential pin-receiving groove 13 with inclined side walls 14, 15, pins 21 are mounted in the openings 20 for movement into and out of the groove 13 to lock and release the member A, and are retained in the openings by a cam ring 22 carried by the member B. The ring is movable in opposite directions respectively to force the pins into and hold them in a locked position in the groove, and to release the pins for free independent movement out of the groove in response to separating movements of the members A, B. The pins are so formed as to have contact surfaces of engagement in the groove and the openings and also have a bevelled end 31 for making surface engagement with one of the shoulders of the groove. As shown, the spigot member A has a bevelled shoulder 16 which, when the member is connected to the socket member B, compresses an 0-ring gasket 33 to form a fluid seal between the members. The members are maintained in the coupled condition by a spring ring 34 anchored against rotative movement and having a looped portion 36 disposed in a cut-out 38 in the cam ring, the portion 36 engaging with a shoulder 39 and seating in a notch 41. The pins have overhanging lips 30 adapted to engage shoulders in the openings 20 to limit inward movement of the pins.
