[Also in Group X] An on-and-off castor for a step-ladder, platform or like structure has a wheel 11 carried in a forked body 12 having a spigot pin 13 secured by means of a spring ring 14 in a plunger 17 slidable in a body 20 against the action of a compression spring 24, the body 20 being housed in a socket 30 secured to the ladder framework 41. When the ladder or platform is in use the weight of the user causes the plunger 17 to more inwardly against the spring 24 so that feet 47 contact the supporting surface.
