857,759. Measuring electrically. VYZKUMNY A ZKUSEBNI LETECKY USTAV. Sept. 18, 1957 [Sept. 20, 1956], No. 29379/57. Class 40 (1). In a force measuring device comprising a hollow ferromagnetic core 1 which carries an A.C. energized coil 5 linked through its bore and a pick-up coil 6 coaxial with the core, the force to be measured is applied between yokes 4 to transmit, via strips 3, two torques in opposite directions to shafts 2 at the ends of the core, thus twisting the core and inducing a signal proportional to the force in the coil 6 which is connected in a measuring circuit. The coils 5, 6 may be enclosed in a magnetic case 7, and their functions may be interchanged. The device may be used for measuring or control in weighing apparatus and for measuring tension.
