Class 99(1) In a tyre valve connector of the kind comprising a tubular body 10, Fig. 1, for engaging over the tyre valve stem, and clutch members 13 carried by the body and adapted to be moved substantially radially inwardly of the body to engage screw - threads on the stem, the members 13 are operated by means manipulatable remotely from the body. As shown in Fig. 1, the members 13 comprise spring blades having bentover portions 14, 14a projecting through slots 15 in a doublee n d e d connector body 10 and operable by a sleeve 16 slidable on the body, the latter being connected to hollow stem 17 on which is provided a slidable hand-grip 19 pivotally connected by links 21 to the sleeve 16. Actuation of the sleeve 19 in one direction or the other causes the sleeve 16 to move longitudinally of the body and thereby engage either the portion 14 or 14a with the tyre valve stem. Movement of the sleeve 19 is limited by stops 20 on the stem 17 which is connected by a hose 18 to a gauge or source of air pressure. In modifications, (a) Fig. 2 (not shown), the sleeve 16 is directly pivoted to extensions of a hand-grip having an internal diameter greater than that of the stem 17 and permitted to move laterally of the stem, and (b) clutch members 30, Fig. 3, pivoted at 31 to the body 10 have teeth 32 which engage the screw-threads on the tyre valve stem, and are pivotally connected at 36 to links 37 which are pivoted to the handgrip 19.
