Abstract

730,254. Flyers. CREFELDER BAUMWOLL-SPINNEREI. May 22, 1953 [May 26, 1952], No. 14531/53. Class 120(2). A flyer has a hollow cylindrical top providing an axial thread inlet aperture, a radial thread outlet aperture at the periphery of the top and a wall which extends inwardly from the periphery to provide an intermediate bearing face for the thread, this face being so formed and disposed adjacent the axis of the flyer that in use, the thread, where it passes onto the said face, will be maintained on the axis of rotation of the flyer and a constant length of the thread will remain in contact with the face at all times during such rotation. In the arrangement shown the outlet aperture 4 and the intermediate thread bearing surface are provided by a cylindrical eyelet 8. In use the thread takes up alternative positions 5 and 6.
