Abstract

714,815. Lamp-holders. SYLVANIA ELECTRIC PRODUCTS, Inc. Sept. 26, 1952, [Sept. 27, 1951.] No. 24237/52. Class 38(I). A holder for an elongated lamp having a pin I7 at each end comprises a cylindrical member 3 in which an insulating plunger 6 has limited sliding movement, being biased outwardly by a spring i. The end portion I4 of the plunger is apertured to receive pin I7 and an annular contact 5 in the plunger for engagement with the pin is pressed against portion 14 by spring 1. Inwardly directed, resilient tongues 9, 10 on the contact engage the pin I7, their resilience being sufficient to cause them to be bent by insertion of the pin without allowing the pin to press the contact away from portion I4, so that the latter is maintained pressed against the end of the lamp base by the spring. A lead I8 is soldered to the inner end of spring I.
