699,119. Combined drawing and twisting apparatus. CHLUPACEK, R. March 14, 1951 [March 15, 1950], No. 6147/51. Class 120(ii) A textile drawing and twisting device has open-ended dirt channels extending transversely to the axes of drawing rollers and arranged in the roller casing for rotation about the longitudinal axis of the twisting head together with the rollers, which are provided with stripping edges for the removal of dirt, grease and the like. The twisting head is mounted in bearings 3 in a body 1 fixed to the frame of a spinning machine. A roller casing 9 is formed beneath a tubular shaft 13 supported by bearings 14 and driven througha cone pulley 11. One of rollers 5 mounted in the roller casing 9 is pressed against the other by springs and. both rollers have their bearings enclosed in dirt covers. Extending radially outwards from the rollers 5 are channels 23 from which dirt is thrown by centrifugal action. Detachable stripping plates 28 are mounted in the channels 23, with bent-up ends engaging behind the rollers 5. The plates 28 may be pressed towards the rollers 5 by springs, but it is preferred to allow the pressure to be created by centrifugal action. A cone pulley 16 transmits drive to the rollers 5 through a hollow shaft 15, a gear wheel 18 and a gear wheel on one of the rollers shafts.
