640,212. Dry-contact rectifiers. ALLMANNA SVENSKA ELEKTRISKA AKTIEBOLAGET. April 15, 1948, No. 10472. Convention date, April 22, 1947. [Class 37] Columns 10 of seriesconnected dry contact plate rectifiers are arranged geometrically parallel and are separated by insulating rods 7, 8 which are parallel to them, a cooling medium, e.g. oil, being able to pass between the columns 10 and between the plates in a column. The columns 10, connected in series, are supported between annular insulating plates 4 which surround a central oil space which may itself be annular and surround an air space. Each column 10 is guided by three insulating rods, the inner ones of which may be tubes 7 surrounding rods 6. In a modification (Fig. 4, not shown) the columns 10 are arranged in rows between rectangular plates, each insulating rod touching three columns. Several groups of columns between end plates may be arranged side-by-side or end-to-end.
