[Classes 92 (ii) and 119] A firearm has a magazine accommodating a row of projectiles and a combustion chamber for a single charge, the chamber communicating with the projectile chamber of the firearm and with the end of the magazine remote from the projectile chamber, in order to distribute the gases of the single charge to feed successively the projectiles towards the projectile chamber and to eject them through the barrel. In Fig. 1 a combustible charge in a chamber 3 is ignited by trigger-actuated mechanism, not shown, the resulting pressure serving to eject the projectiles 5 in succession from the barrel 1 and also, via conduit 6, to urge the projectiles in the magazine 4 towards the barrel chamber 2. In a modification the conduit is dispensed with, the pressure gases reaching the outer end of the magazine by passing through the rear end of the barrel and thence around the projectiles. In Figs. 3 and 5 a feeding device 13 is slidably mounted in a housing 11 fitted with a magazine 16. This device has a recess 18 adapted to convey the rounds from the magazine to a position in alignment with the barrel 1. When the feeding-device is in its extreme left-hand position, a space 14 is left in connection with the chamber 3, and it is stated that with the help of this space the device 13 will reciprocate upon the ignition of a charge in the chamber 3. In another modification, Fig. 7, the projectiles 26 and the charge 27 are located in the magazine 25. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 describes also a construction, Fig. 3 (Cancelled), in which the projectiles are fed to the firing position by a rotary magazine 8. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
