[Classes 106 (ii) and 106 (iv)] A fluid-pressure gauge for indicating loads un a force-measuring device having a pressure chamber comprises a Bourdon tube rigidly connected to said pressure chamber and indicating means for obtaining magnified readings of very small movements of the Bourdon tube embodying two or more geared pointers and means connecting the free end of the Bourdon tube with said geared pointers. As applied to a weighing machine 1 of the type described in Specifications 564,287 and 617,429, [Group XVIII], the free end of the Bourdon tube 3 carries an extension 4 to which is pivoted a link 5 also pivoted to an adjustable pin 7 on a spindle 8 on which is mounted a toothed quadrant 11. The latter drives a pointer 18 through gears 13, 15, 16 and the pointer shaft drives a second pointer 24, through gears 19, 20, 21, 22, a third pointer 28 being driven through gears 23, 25, 26, 27 from the shaft of the second pointer. The gear ratios between the first pointer and the second and third pointers respectively are ten and one hundred to one. The gauge mechanism is mounted on a casting 10 carried by a plate 31 secured to the body of the weighing machine. One arm of a lever 37 serves as a stop for the extension 4 of the Bourdon tube and may be adjusted, so that at no load the instrument intlicates zero, by a screw 35 mounted in a casing 34 secured to the plate 31 and having a tapered end engaging the other arm of the lever 37. The screw 35 is held in its adjusted position by a spring finger (not shown), which co-operates with a knurled head of the screw.
