Abstract

618,194. Electric lamp fittings. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. Oct. 31, 1946, No. 32385. Convention date, Oct. 31, 1945. [Class 75 (iv)] [Also in Group XXXVI] Means for supporting a plurality of circular fluorescent lamps of different diameters one within the other and lying in different planes comprise a bracket 5 of sheet metal or moulded plastic formed in two parts, which mesh together to provide a recess for the electrical conductors 13 and securing means for the electrical connectors 11, 19. The upper end of a loop 6 of the bracket 5 is secured by a screw threaded nipple 7 to a supporting pipe and the lower end is formed with a supporting surface 10 on which a rubber or plastic electric connector 11, receiving the contact pins on the lamp base, is secured by the engagement of guide edges 15 on the bracket 5 with grooves 14 on the connector 11. A U-shaped spring clip pivotally mounted on the loop 6 holds the lamp in position. A further loop 18 of the bracket 5 supports a second lamp, the two loops 6, 8 being disposed at an angle to each other.
