[Class 98 (i)] An enlarger comprises a bracket slidably mounted on a vertical column mounted on a base and carrying a horizontal adjustable arm supporting a condenser unit, lamphouse, negative stage and lens holder, and a projection table mounted above the base. As shown the base 1 carries a projection table 7 and a column 6 through which passes a lead 9 from the mains to the lamp housing 10. Slidable along the column is a bracket 13 having pivoted thereon at 19 a lever 18 spring urged at 191 so that a toe 181 thereon locks the bracket on the column, release of the bracket being effected by pressing on the lever. Slidable and rotatable in a bore on the bracket is an arm 14 through which passes a spindle 20, on which are slidably and rotatably mounted a condenser unit and a negative stage, both of which may be locked in any desired position. The condenser unit includes a casing 21 for lenses 30, 29, which are separated by a spring 28, the upper end of the casing having the lower rim 31 of the lamphouse 10 projecting thereinto to engage the lens 29. The lamphouse may be secured to the casing 21 as by screws 27. The negative stage 22 includes a turntable 23 bearing the negative and has secured thereto one end of a bellows 37 which is secured to a lens holder 36. Through this holder passes a spindle having pinions 41 which co-operate with racks 35 depending from the stage 22 to effect the focusing of the lens. A rod depending from the holder 36 may have a filter holder 44 slidably mounted thereon.
