Drawings to Specification [Class 38 (v)] In a multiple-break gas-blast circuit breaker having a plurality of points of interruption arranged electrically and spatially in series, the individual points of interruption are dimensioned for different rupturing capacities in such a manner that those points of interruption which are most highly stressed when the voltage is interrupted are dimensioned for the highest rupturing capacities By giving the points of interruptions different dimensions the rupturing capacity of the individual points is uniformly graded, that at the outermost points being the largest. The rupturing capacity may be increased by increasing the bore of the hollow arcing contact or the stroke of the movable contact of the switch element or both. Specification 530,971 is referred to
