Abstract

541,380. Impedance networks. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd., and SMYTH, C. N. May 24, 1940. No. 9187. [Class 40 (iii)] [Also in Group XXXVI] In apparatus operating at ultra high frequencies a condenser has terminals so arranged that parallel electrodes form the conductors of a loaded transmission line between the terminals, thus acting as a filter for suppressing extremely high frequencies. In the example a thin copper strip 1 is separated by dielectric 3 from two thicker interconnected copper strips 2. Input terminals are provided at or near adjacent ends of each plate. In a modification one of the outer electrodes is constituted by a part of a set chasis or casing. Specifications 309,833, [Class 40 (v)], 367,147, [Group XXXV], and 513,660 are referred to.
