[Class 54] The pivoted slide valves 12 of a dry gasmeter are operated by a crank through connecting rods 11 adjustably threaded in sleeves 18 having tangential ends 23 engaging pivot pins 20 projecting below lugs 21 on the valves, the force applied to the valves being substantially in the plane of the valve faces so as to prevent the valves from tilting.
