490,889. Grid resistances. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. Dec. 7, 1937, No. 33849. Convention date, Dec. 8, 1936. [Class 37] Ceramic insulators a, b on a bolt h support and space apart resistance plates c, d. These plates have at their ends recesss e which engage lugs f on the insulators. Recesses g are provided in the insulators and are engaged by the lugs f, which may be of such a length that on tightening the nuts on the bolts h they engage the bottoms of the recesses g so as to allow the plates c, d to expand longitudinally. Each insulator may be provided with a longitudinal slit so that it may be removed from the bolt perpendicularly to the axis thereof. The plates are stamped so as to form closed loops with central connecting-pieces m. At the centre of each bar wide gaps bridged by two connecting pieces may be arranged. A plurality of such gaps may be provided in a long resistance element.
