Abstract

432,141. Vehicle opening- tops. VANDEN PLAS (ENGLAND) 1923, Ltd., and WILLIAMS, S., Kingsbury Works, The Hyde, Hendon, London. May 12, 1934, No. 14392. [Class 108 (i)] In open tourer motor - cars weather protection is attained by mounting on the sides of the car to the rear of the doors rigid quarterlights, by providing a hood and means making separable and weatherproof connections between the hood and the quarter lights. The quarter-lights a are mounted on the vehicle sides by means of peg and socket fastenings a<1> and the rear and top of the quarterlight is provided with one member d<1> of a " lightning " fastener d the other member d<2> forming part of or secured to the hood b as shown. The doors are also provided with drop-down windows e the side guides of which make weather - proof connection with the quarter-light and with the fixed door window f when the window e is in raised position. The hood cantrails h may be secured to the quarter-lights by a fastening i and the quarterlight may bed on the vehicle sides by means of a rubber &c., strip.
