418,195. Air filters. SACO-LOWELL SHOPS, 147, Milk Street, Boston, U.S.A. March 16, 1933, No. 18822/34. Convention date, April 4, 1932. Divided out of 418,134. [Class 8 (ii).] A filter through which a stream of air carrying cotton or other fibres passes comprises a screen of coarse mesh, followed by a screen of fine mesh ; the space between the screens is narrow so that fibres passing through the coarse screen and strained out by the fine screen are held between the two in a highly pervious fibrous layer which catches dust and fine particles. The filter may comprise a box with screened top and sides and an air inlet 20 at bottom ; one side is hinged forming a door d for removal of material which falls to the bottom of the box during stoppages.
