Abstract

351,044. Shelling and winnowing grain. MURPHY, J., Mill Place, and BANDON MILLING & ELECTRIC LIGHTING CO., Ltd., both in Bandon, Co. Cork, Ireland. March 19, 1930, No. 8747. [Class 58.] A finishing shoot for shelling and winnowing grain diverges downwardly and contains baffles 4 and is connected, preferably by sinuous piping 14, to the outlet of apparatus such as that described in Specification 312,620, [Class 58, Grain &c.]; at the lower end of the shoot, a guide 6 is provided together with a baffle 5 adjustable longitudinally and angularly, below which is a winnowing slide 9 adjustably supported on detents 10, 11, one of which may be replaced by a fixed support. The casing and baffles 4 may be of wood or metal, or wood lined with metal, and the baffles may be adjustable.
