Abstract

321,244. Youngman, H. P. Aug. 13, 1928. Irrigation.-A hard tennis or like court comprising an upper layer 1 a foundation layer 2 of ashes, and a thin intermediate layer 3 of brick chippings, is provided with a number of apertured water-supplying pipes 4 laid in the intermediate layer 3. The apertures may be formed by making slits 6 in the pipes at the screw threaded joints 5; or fine perforations may be provided. The pipes 4 extend at intervals over the whole area of the court and are connected to a conduit leading from a supply tank 8 provided with a float valve 9.
