Abstract

279,814. Anger, J. R. Oct. 26, 1926, [Convention date]. Rotary sieves.-Apparatus for separating nightsoil, &c. into its constituent elements comprises a rotating perforated drum 2 through which a current of air is blown from a pipe 8 in the direction of movement of the material. The drum is enclosed in a casing 6 provided with shoots 7 by which the cinders are discharged. The heavy materials such as stones drop over the end of the drum at 13. The air current carries the lighter material forward, paper &c. being deposited at 15 and the putrescible matter falling through a reciprocating grid 9 on to a slide 11.
