Abstract

257,770. Watts, J. R. Oct, 24,1925. Garment hangers.-A hanger for holding or displaying articles of apparel such as neckties, and which may be modified for other articles, comprises a lazy tongs linkage supported by a hook 8. The linkage is made up of a series of levers 4 arranged parallel to one another and a series of levers 5 similarly arranged the levers being pivoted together as shown and being provided with corresponding extensions 6, 7. The extensions are formed with hooked ends 9 for retaining the articles. By collapsing the device with articles in position on the levers, the articles are clamped by the extensions 6, 7. The extensions may be simple extensions in line with the levers or may be at any angle thereto or in a different plane.
