Abstract

237,175. Imray, O. Y., (International Motor Co.). Feb. 5, 1925. Laminar springs; resilient shackles. -One end of a laminar spring of a motor vehicle is engaged in, and held relatively fixed by a block of yielding non-metallic material carried by the frame, the other end of the spring being connected to the frame by a flat strip of non-metallic material freely flexible in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle but substantially inflexible transversely thereof. As shown, the rear end of the spring c<2> is connected by clamping members c, c' to the flat strip b which is clamped by members a<2>, a<3> to an extension of the frame a. The front end of the spring enters an indiarubber block e which is secured under compression in a housing f by means of a closure plate f<2>. Seats f<4>, f<5> and c<3>, c<4> of the block may be formed on or carried by the housing and spring respectively. Specifications 181,144 and 188,529 are referred to.
