Printing-apparatus; colotir photography; studio accessories. - A cabinet apparatus is described having alternative fittings enabling it to be used for various purposes such as enlarging or copying opaque objects or transparencies, contact printing, direct or stereoscopic photography, taking several photographs simultaneously, colour photography or radiography. The cabinet 3, Figs. 2, 3, and 4, has a hinged door 9; a glass panel top 6 and lid 5; a vertically adjustable lens board 11; a bellows 14, lens panel 12 and frame 13 which are removable; and a vertically adjustable light chamber 8 with a removable top 15 and a hinged door 9. On the underside of the top 15 are fitted a displaceable central bulb 17, and four bulbs surrounding a depending shield 18. A condenser is carried by a removable panel 43 on the top 15. Transparencies carried by the frame 13 which also carries a removable diffusing screen, may be projected with the condenser and central bulb, or by reflected light using the four bulbs 15 and with or without the condenser. Opaque objects placed on the bottom 10 of the chamber 8 may be illuminated by the bulbs 16 for projection. The bottom 7 of the cabinet as well as the bottom 10 is removable and the cabinet may be mounted on a surgical table for medical and surgical work or for radiography; or the cabinet may be mounted by trunnions 53, Fig. 11, on a support 54 so as to be usable in a horizontal position for direct photography. Stereoscopic photographs may be obtained* by substituting a pair of lenses and a double bellows for the single lens 12 and bellows 14, or several photographs may be obtained by substituting a panel fitted with a number of lenses on the lens board 11. Colour photographs may be obtained by substituting a multicolour screen for the glass panel 6. Red and orange bulbs 40, 41 are fitted on the lens carrying board for inspection purposes on the panel 6, and either or both may be used according to the sensitive material employed. The light chamber 8 is mounted on a slide 19, Figs. 3 and 4, which is adjusted in guide ways 23 by rack and pinion 22, 20 from the external handle 21, and it may be clamped in any position by a clamping bolt 25. The lens board 11 is carried by an inner panel 27 slidably adjustable on an outer slide 28 to which it may be clamped by an inner clamping nut 31. The outer slide 28 is vertically adjustab.e in guideways 35 by rack and pinion 32, 34 from the external handle 33 and may be clamped by the clamping bolt 37. For contact printing the lens and diffusing screen in the panel 13 are removed the hinged cover 5 acting as a pressure board.
