Coils and conductors; armatures and field magnets, dampers and shortcircuited screens on cores and poles of.- In dynamo-electric machines wherein each core slot contains conductors of two distinct windings, the conductor 4 of one winding is laid in a narrow part of the slot and the conductors 6 of the other winding are laid in a wider part and on either side of the conductor 4. This enables the winding 4 to be removed without disturbing the winding 6. The winding 4 may constitute the continuous-current exciting winding of a synchronous machine, and the conductors 6 the amortisseur and starting winding. The end rings 7 of the winding 6 are provided with slots of similar shape to those of the core, and the ends of the conductors 6 are bent around the teeth 8 of the end rings and secured thereto by screws 9, corrugations 10 in the conductors allowing for their expansion.
