Abstract

A driver's tilt cabin 3 of a working vehicle is mounted on to a supporting platform 2 with the interposition of resilient cushioning 11. Releasable bolting connections 13 fixing the cabin to the platform to prevent the tilting movement are tightened so that the resilient cushioning undergoes compression and serves as an anti-slack device for the bolting connection as well as cushioning against transmission of vibration from the platform to the cabin. <IMAGE>

Description

SPECIFICATION Mounting of a tilt cabin in a working vehicle Description This invention relates to mounting a tilt cabin in a working vehicle.
Among the working vehicles with the bonneted engine and the driver's cabin mounted on the vehicle platform, such for instance as backhoes, there conventionally are some that are made compact in entirety by juxtaposing a portion of the engine bonnet to jut out intrusively into the lower portion of the cabin, while providing ample space in the upper part of the cabin for enhancing the workability.
There are also some that are made with various machines and devices snugly accommodated in the lower free space within the cabin.
In such types of the working vehicle it is also conventionai, for the convenience of maintenance and inspection of the engine or the auxiliary machines and devices, to removably or tiltably mount the driver's cabin on to the platform. However, such structure incurs the problem in that the platform undergoes vibration relative to the cabin, which results often in heavy noise and/or slack in the connection therebetween, and in that tedious operation is required for removing or tilting the cabin.
This invention has as its object to throughly clear up, by means of very simple improvement in structure, the drawbacks as mentioned hereinabove.
In order to attain the object, the tilt cabin of a working vehicle, with mounting device for the cabin, comprises according to this invention: a platform of the vehicle as superstructure support; the driver's cabin with a bottom plate, pivotally supported to be tiltable about an axis along a lower edge thereof an the platform; resilient cushioning means interposed in between lower surface of the cabin bottom plate and top surface of the platform; and bolting connection means for releasably fixing, blocking or inhibiting the tilting movement of the cabin with respect to the platform; whereby the cushioning means undergoes resilient compression deformation as the bolting connection means is fixed up, exerting resilient restoring force on the bolting connection means thus to serve as anti-slack means therefor.
Since the cabin is pivotally supported for tilting, structure for connecting the cabin on to the platform may be made simple, allowing easy and rapid releasing and refixing of the connection as well as altering the posture of the cabin. Furthermore, the resilient cushioning means is provided for eliminating the vibratory noise and at the same time for preventing the slack of the bolting connection means, by making a good use of the resilient restoring force of the cushioning means exerted on the bolting connection means. Taken all together, the object has thus thoroughly been attained with such simple structure.
Other objects and advantages of this invention will be clear from the detailed description given hereunder with reference to the accompanying drawings.
Accompanying drawings show, by way of example, an embodiment of a backhoe tilt cabin, with mounting device therefor, according to this invention, wherein: Figure 1 is an overall side elevation of the backhoe and Figure 2 is an enlarged view of the portion, essential to this invention, of the cabin mounting device with a part cut away for clear view.
In the illustrated instance of the backhoe, given as an example of the working vehicle, there are seen a swiveling platform 2 supported on a crawler frame platform 1.
Mounted on the swiveling platform 2 are: a driver's cabin 3, interiorly equipped with various manipulation devices; an engine 4 rearwardly of the cabin 3; a bonnet 5 covering up the engine 4, with a portion thereof intrusively jutting out into juxtaposed lower portion of the cabin 3; a digging implement 6 pivotally journalled on to the swiveling platform 2 for rotation within an angular range about an upright pin; and an earth-moving implement 7 extending forth from the crawler frame platform 1.
The bonnet 5 is split in upper and lower two portions interconnected in such a manner that the lower portion supports the upper portion for free rocking movement, about a longitudinal horizontal axis P along a lower edge thereof, transversely laterally of the swivelling platform 2. On to the swiveling platform 2 the driver's cabin 3 is pivotally supported for tilting about a transverse horizontal axis P, along a lower edge thereof, extending normal to the said bonnet-rocking axis P on the side opposite to the bonnet 5, to tilt down on the side of the digging implement 6. The bonnet 5 may thus be laterally thrown open when the cabin 3 is in the tilted posture.
In order to fix up on to the swiveling platform 2 the cabin 3 on the free end side of the tilting, there is provided at least one connecting device 8, at a spacing interval in the transverse direction thereof in the case of plurality of the devices 8.
In the illustrated instance, the connecting device 8 is constructed as follows: A hole 9 is perforated in the cabin bottom plate 3a on the free end side of the tilting. A pin 10 is provided to protrude on the swiveling platform 2 to come out through the hole 9. Resilient cushioning means 11 is interposed in between the cabin bottom plate 3a and the swiveling platform 2. A lug sleeve 1 2 is welded on to the cabin bottom plate 3a to protrude higher than the pin 10, in the state when the cabin bottom plate 3a is put on the cushioning means 11 to bear thereon, in such state as is loosely fitted around the pin 10.
Bolting connection means designated generally at A is for releasably securing the cabin 3 on to the swiveling platform 2, and is constructed as follows: Screwing bore is threaded at the center of the pin 10 on the top side thereof. A bolt 1 3 is provided to engage in threading with the screwing bore, with interposition of a pressing plate 1 4 bearing on the top surface of the lug sleeve 12, with perforation for allowing the bolt 1 3 to pass therethrough. With such bolting connection means A, the cabin 3 is maintained in the normal upright posture thereof with the cushioning means 11 resiliently deformed under compression. Resilient restoring force of the cushioning means 11 as exerted on the bottom surface of the cabin 3 serves hereby also for preventing the slack of the bolting connection means A.
Brackets 1 5, 16, having journaling holes (designated only at 1 spa with respect to one bracket 15) in parallel with the said cabinrocking axis P1, are provided on a lower portion of the cabin front plate 3b and on a front edge portion of the swiveling platform 2, respectively. One of them, the bracket 1 6 on the swiveling platform 2, pivotally supports an arm 18via a pin 17. On the free end side of the arm 1 8 there are provided two journaling holes 1 8a, 1 8b at a spacing interval in the longitudinal direction thereof.The spacing interval is properly selected so that the arm 1 8 may selectively maintain the cabin 3 in the normal upright posture thereof when a pivotal supporting pin 1 9 is inserted through the hole 1 8a on the tip end side of the arm 1 8 and through the said journaling hole 1 5a of the backet 1 5 or eise in the tilted posture when the pin 1 9 is inserted through the other hole 1 8b of the arm 1 8 and through the said same hole 1 5a of the bracket 1 5.
It is to be noted that the connecting device 8 may undergo various modifications, such for instance as omitting the lug sleeve 1 2 and the pressing plate 14, while providing the pin 10 with the tip thereof located lower than the cabin bottom plate 3a and providing a perforation barely enough to allow the bolt 1 3 to pass therethrough, thus in smaller size than the hole 9 in the illustrated instance, in the cabin bottom plate 3a and having the bolt 1 3 engage in threading with the screwing bore of the pin 10 also in this instance. It should as well be noted that the connecting device is provided also with respect to the engine bonnet 5 and such may preferably be of the similar structure as has hereinbefore been described with respect to the cabin connecting device 8.

Claims (5)

1. Tilt cabin of a working vehicle, with mounting device for the cabin, comprising: a platform of the vehicle as superstructure support; the driver's cabin with a bottom plate, pivotally supported to be tiltable about an axis along a lower edge thereof on the platform; resilient cushioning means interposed in between lower surface of the cabin bottom plate (3a) and top surface of the platform; and bolting connection means for releasably fixing, blocking or inhibiting the tilting movement of the cabin with respect to the platform; whereby the cushioning means undergoes resilient compression deformation as the bolting connection means is fixed up, exerting resilient restoring force on the bolting connection means thus to serve as anti-slack means therefor.
2. The cabin with the mounting device therefor of claim 1, wherein the working vehicle is a backhoe and the bolting connection means is disposed near the lower edge of the cabin on the side opposite to the said tilting axis.

The cabin with the mounting device therefor of claim 2, further comprising at least one arm with one end thereof pivotally supported on the cabin by a pin extending in parallel with the said tilting axis and with other end thereof pivotally supported on the platform by another pin extending similarly in parallel with the tilting axis.
4. The cabin with the mounting device therefor of claim 3, wherein the said at least one arm has two bores, at a spacing interval therebetween in the longitudinal direction thereof, to receive interchangeably therein one of the said two pivotally supporting pins in such a manner that the pin is received in one of the two bores when the cabin is in the normal, upright posture thereof and is received in the other when the cabin is in the tilted posture thereof, in either case blocking and inhibiting any further tilting movement thus to maintain the respective postures of the cabin.
5. A tilt cabin substantially as hereinbefore described with reference to and as shown in the accompanying drawing.
