Abstract

16,069. Thompson, F. W. July 12. Traps, grease. Waste water is caused to flow over inclined settling-shelves provided with baffles. In the form of apparatus shown in Fig. 1, perforated corrugated shelves b, c are contained in a tank a, in the bottom of which is a settling-tank d. The water enters bv a pipe g and leaves through an opening j provided with gauze screens b. In a modified form, plane shelves are provided with staggered baffles. Fig. 3 shows the shelves in the form of a continuous spiral with baffles.
