Brackets, adjusting and securing; pedestal, pillar, and like stands.-A bracket a, Fig. 2, is attached to a stand k by a fixed jaw b having a box-like recess e in its side face acting as a guide for laterallysliding jaw c, propelled or repelled by a screw g. The screw g may traverse a threaded hole in the jaw b, or be swivelled to it. The jaws may engage around a flange j on the stand k, or may be inserted in a vertical slot l, Fig. 5, in a tubular or hollow stand.
