Abstract
1457340 Hydraulic control circuits A K GEBAUR & CIE SPEZIAL FABRIK FUR AUFZUGE 8 Nov 1974 [9 Nov 1973] 48534/74 Heading F1P [Also in Division F2] In the circuit shown, Fig. 1, a constant delivery pump 3 raises a load 15 by means of a ram 1 and the speed of the ram may be reduced by an adjustable by-pass valve 7 which operates independently of the weight 15. The valve 7, Fig. 2, is operated by a pre-control valve 25. When the latter is closed, as shown, the pressure pre-set in a chamber 20 builds up in a chamber 19 through conduits 22, 23 causing a piston 17 to move to the left to close an orifice 21. In this position a throttle piston 38 closes a passage 34 and the entire pump output goes to the ram 1. To slow down the ram, the valve 25 is switched by de-energizing a solenoid, thus connecting the chamber 19 to the reservoir. The piston 17 moves to the right opening the orifice 21. Since pressure in the chamber 20 drops, the piston 38 moves to the left and opens passage 34 so that fluid flows to chamber 20 and to the reservoir. Because the pressure in chamber 20 remains constant regardless of the pressure in pipe 8, the device is independent of the load 15. All the throttles are turbulence throttles so the viscosity of the fluid does not affect the throttling action.
