Abstract

1441259 Foam-generating apparatus JOHN KERR & CO (MANCHESTER) Ltd 6 May 1974 [21 July 1973] 34889/73 Heading B1C A foam generating appliance comprises a hollow elongate vessel having an inlet end 12 for gas, a central portion 14 having means 28, 30, 32, 34 for supplying liqu'id and foam compound in spray form, a reticular member 38 between the central portion and outlet end, the inlet end being divergent in the direction of flow and having a series of transversely disposed stationary deflector elements 22, 24, 26 each comprising a series of angularly spaced blades arranged to deflect the gas successively in different directions and to impart a swirling motion to the gas as it passes into the central position. An orifice plate 18 and differential pressure guage 20 are provided in the gas supply pipe 10 to facilitate regulation of the supply of gas.
