Machine guns.-Relates to guns having a reciprocating breech-block, and consists in a pivoted firing-pin so arranged that its forward momentum does not tend to carry it into the firing position when the breech is closed. In the construction shown, the firing-pin 6 is pivoted at the lower front end of the breech-block 3 with its centre of gravity below the centre of rotation. The firing-pin has a downward projection 9 adapted to be struck by a hammer 13.
