Abstract

1394615 Mixing apparatus GENERAL SIGNAL CORP 2 Oct 1972 [3 April 1972] 45273/72 Heading B1C A powder is wetted by discharge on to the surface of a partially immersed rotating drum 26. The drum rotates anti-clockwise as shown to move the mixture towards a shallow discharge portion 19 of the tank 12 whence it is discharged by an ejector 24. Powder is metered from a hopper 11 down a shoot 16 having a spreader surface (36, Figs. 2-4 not shown) which is a segment of a frusto-cone, whereby the powder is uniformly distributed in a straight line along the drum 26. Liquid is metered through spray bars 18a, 18b.
