Abstract

1389627 Gas discharge display panels BURROUGHS CORP 24 July 1973 [3 Oct 1972] 35170/73 Heading H1D A mass 180 of fibrous material is placed in the exhaust and filling tubulation 150 of a gas discharge display panel containing a mercury capsule 190 to prevent liquid mercury passing through a hole 160 into the panel after the capsule has been broken to release mercury vapour. The fibrous material may be either insulating or metallic and the mass 180 may be of irregular shape or may be a disc and may have a portion seated in the hole 160. The panel is otherwise as described in Specification 1,358,571 and has a plurality of groups of segment cathodes 60 and anodes 90.
