Abstract

1346437 Making starter motor freewheels; brazing FABRICA ESPANOLA MAGNETOS SA 22 April 1971 [2 May 1970] 10805/71 Headings B3A and B3R A method of making a starter motor freewheel comprises assembling a plurality of internally toothed sheet steel rings 4 coaxially with a circular metal base member 1, the rings being enclosed within and located with respect to the base member by an annular metal shell 2, and soldering the base member, rings and shell together. The annular end portion 2A of the shell is reinforced with a ring 8. Each ring is provided with holes (7) Fig. 1 (not shown), and the rings are aligned by passing dowel pins 5 through the holes. A copper ring 3 is located in a groove in the base member 1 and an edge 6 of the shell 2 is bent around a chamfered peripheral edge of the member 1. The soldering operation is then carried out in a reducing atmosphere at a temperature of about 1120‹ C.
