Abstract

1334402 Stirling cycle engines UNITED STIRLING (SWEDEN) AB & CO KB 19 April 1971 [23 Feb 1970] 21966/71 Heading F1S A control device for governing the power of a Stirling cycle engine 10 comprises valve means 29 responding to signal input means, the valve means connecting the engine working chamber with a reservoir 23 upon an input signal requesting increased power from the engine and upon a signal requesting decreased power from the engine, connecting a buffer space 17 with the suction side of a pump 26 and subsequently interconnecting the working chamber with the buffer space. The valve means comprises a slide 30, 31, 32 movable in opposite directions in a housing and the slide is acted on in one direction by force transmission means in response to the signal input means and is acted upon in the opposite direction by the pressure of the working gas. The working gas may be helium or hydrogen. (For Figure see next page)
