Abstract

1299901 Ceramic cores DOULTON & CO Ltd 8 Jan 1970 [8 Jan 1969] 1115/69 Heading C1J A core comprising one or more of Al 2 O 3 , MgO and ZrO 2 is fried and then treated with a carbonaceous material so as to leave in the internal and/or external layers 2-50% of finely divided carbon or graphite. The core can also be made by mixing the sides with one or more carbonaceous organic materials, shaping and firing under non-oxidizing conditions to leave 2-50% elemental carbon in the core.
