Abstract
1277079 Control of AC motors BROWN BOVERI & CO Ltd 29 Oct 1969 [31 Oct 1968] 52939/69 Heading H2J The stator of an asynchronous machine is provided with two separate three-phase windings having supply-terminals U1, V1, W1, and U2, V2, W2, the star-points being formed by the leads joining terminals X1, Y1, Z1, and X2, Y2, Z2. The windings are supplied from respective frequency converters, the effective pole-number of the machine being changed by varying the supply voltages in frequency and phase positon within the individual windings. Figs. 1 and 2 indicate the supply voltage values for four-pole and two-pole operation respectively. The frequency converters may be of the thyristor type.
