Abstract

1,230,435. Processing photographic colour materials. FUJI SHASHIN FILM K.K. Sept. 30, 1968 [Oct.2, 1967], No.46344/68. Heading G2C. In processing a photographic silver halide colour material, the developed, bleached and fixed material is treated before or during washing with propionic acid, butyric acid or their alkali-metal salts; itaconic acid, aconitic acid, citraconic acids, mesaconic acid or the alkali-metal salts, anhydrides or esters thereof; or phthalic acid, phthalic anhydride or alkali-metal phthalates. The treatment enables a shorter washing time to be used and reduces staining. The acids may be added to the washing water or may be used in a hardening bath or stabilizing bath or in aqueous solution to form a bath with which the material is treated between fixing and washing.
