Abstract

1,223,190. Brakes. AUTOMOTIVE PRODUCTS CO. Ltd. 18 June, 1969 [27 June, 1968], No. 30674/68. Headings F2E and F2F. A brake-pad applying piston 11 is enabled to move forward to take-up wear but at the same time retract by a suitable amount after each application, by means of a spring 15 secured at 14 to the piston and having ends 21 which press against the cylinder wall to give frictional grip which is overcome when the piston advances to take-up wear but which then withdraws the piston to a new retracted position.
