Abstract

1,212,683. Structural assemblies; buildings erected therefrom. FORDHAM PRESSINGS Ltd. 29 March, 1968 [4 Jan., 1967; 20 Oct., 1967], No. 512/67 and 47806/67. Headings E1A and E1W. A structural assembly comprises extruded synthetic plastics elements 20a-d, 133 and 34 having flanges 33 with abutting inturned edges 34 held in engagement by extruded synthetic plastics H-section members 44 which are slid into place after the elements have been placed in edge to edge relationship. In another embodiment the element comprise two tray shaped injection mouldings having flanges 51, 49, welded together and outer inturned lips 50 defining passages 53 into which connecting elements can be introduced. There may be strengthening webs between the flanges 49 and lip 50 but they would not extend the full depth of the wall 50. Structural members forming the wall are capped by a U-section strip 85 which is connected to roof member 75 by L- shaped bolts 92 which also secure a plug member 97 for the roof member. The walls are secured to a concrete floor by means of anchor bolts passing through a U-section channel. Window door frame and gutter attachments are also disclosed.
